Communications Agency of the Year – BusinessGreen Leaders Awards 2018

BusinessGreen Awards 2018

Never mind the World Cup, Greenhouse scored a hat trick of our own last night, winning
Communications Agency of the Year at the prestigious BusinessGreen Leaders Awards for the third time.

The judges hailed Greenhouse’s commitment to working with some of the UK’s most pioneering green businesses and delivering a raft of innovative and eye-catching campaigns that generated thousands of stories all around the world.

This is the sixth consecutive year that Greenhouse has either won or been highly commended in this hotly contested category.

Anna Guyer, founder of Greenhouse, said: “As a mission-focused PR agency that’s completely committed to helping our clients take new technologies and solutions to scale, this award is incredibly important to us.

“We are delighted to be recognised for our positive impact by the leaders in green business – every time we win the BusinessGreen Leaders Award it increases our profile, attracts new pioneering clients, and helps us to grow and accelerate positive change.”

We were also privileged to be celebrating alongside some of our clients, including Triodos Bank who won Investor of the Year, and Carbon Tracker who were highly commended for their ‘2 Degrees of Separation’ environmental awareness campaign which we also supported.

Greenhouse has delivered more than 25 campaigns over the last year, creating tangible impact across key sectors from finance and energy to food and farming. Here are just
a few of our highlights:

Shifting the billions from fossil fuels and phasing out coal
We launched a major campaign with international NGOs titled Insuring Coal No More, making the climate, health and financial case for phasing out coal. A climate change scorecard contrasted progressive insurers withdrawing cover and divesting billions with those doing nothing. Following the launch, which generated more than 100 pieces of coverage in 22 countries, AXA, the world’s 3rd biggest insurer, announced plans to end insurance for new coal projects and divest $2.4 billion.

Pioneering the low-carbon smart grid
We launched Moixa’s pioneering GridShare technology, which manages fleets of EVs and home batteries, creating virtual power plants to provide flexibility to the grid and support increased renewable generation. We announced Moixa’s partnership with a Japanese Fortune 500 company to market GridShare in one of the world’s most advanced battery markets, resulting in 350+ pieces of coverage and two successful funding rounds raising £7.5m.

Accelerating sustainable agriculture
We helped put soil at the heart of the Government’s Environment Plan, working with Sustainable Soils Alliance (SSA), a coalition of businesses, farmers, scientists, academics and NGOs whose mission is to reverse the degradation and improve soil health in one generation. We engaged high profile influencers via media and social and Gove has now given SSA the mandate to hold government to account on soil policy.

Building sustainable supply chains
We launched the Dirty Fashion report for Changing Markets, exposing toxic viscose production in factories used by major brands, and the catastrophic impacts on workers and local communities. Following coverage in nationals, trade and social media, ASOS, H&M, Zara, M&S and Tesco all committed to the ‘Sustainable Sourcing Roadmap’ to clean up viscose in their supply chains.

The BusinessGreen Leaders award represents the sixth win for Greenhouse this year. We were named Ethical Champion 2018 by the PRCA in March and picked up four DARE awards at a PRCA ceremony in Bristol earlier this month.

We’d like to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to all of our inspiring clients, whose ambition and progress provides brilliant content to enable us to build compelling campaigns.

Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to BusinessGreen for a fantastic evening.
